From Page to Stage to Classroom

My love affair with theatre began at a very young age. Raised on movies like The Wizard of Oz, Annie, and Oliver, I knew by the time I started grade school that I wanted to spend my life in musical theatre (and also perhaps as a singing orphan).

Performing and writing have always been my two biggest passions. I wrote my first musicals in middle school, and I performed and wrote my way through high school and college. I attended Catholic University in Washington, DC where I earned my Bachelor of Music in Musical Theatre in 2015. While there I also discovered a love for directing, lighting design, and other technical theatre disciplines.

Wanting to merge my passion for every aspect of theatre with my love of building community, I decided to pursue a career in theatre education. I began teaching theatre at Bishop O’Connell High School in the fall of 2020 where I have been teaching ever since. I also earned my Master of Arts in Theatre Education from Catholic University in 2022. Sharing my love of theatre with teens has been incredibly rewarding, as has been taking on every role from director to lighting designer to playwright— even to actor as a last-minute emergency!

Today, I am blessed to practice theatre every single day. Alongside teaching and directing, I have taken up performing in a more serious way, as well as writing. Favorite recent roles include Amy in Little Women, Cinderella in Into the Woods, and Susie in the regional premiere of Snapshots: A Musical Scrapbook. As a writer, I have several projects in development for both educational settings and adult actors. Stay tuned for future readings and performances!
