Writing for the Stage

My journey in theatrical writing began when I wrote my first two musicals at the ripe age of twelve: adaptations of The Boxcar Children and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (don’t worry, J.K. Rowling— the script has been lost to time).

I began writing seriously in college, with my first full-length musical First Light produced by Catholic University’s CenterStage Theatre Company in 2014. I wrote extensively through 2019, with a career highlight being a presentation of my musical Wendy at the Kennedy Center Page-to-Stage Festival in 2016.

Since beginning my journey as a theatre educator, I have also started writing for young actors. My one act play The Oxford Girls debuted at the Virginia Thespian Festival in 2026, and a full-length Peter Pan reimagining, Wendy and the Lost Boys, will have its world premiere at Bishop O’Connell High School in the fall.

I am also working on an original musical with composer Elena Prince. Stay tuned for a developmental workshop in 2027! I am excited about writing musical adaptations of books for young people, stories about growing up, and themes of cultural identity and Mexican heritage.
